National Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Moldova representative participated in the annual Eastern Europe Regional Anti-Doping Organization (EERADO) Board Meeting which was held on 5th-6thApril, in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia. Event brought together representatives from the EERADO member states: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, and representatives of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The meeting was chaired by Professor Areg Hovhannisyan, EERADO Chairman. The official opening was attended by the President and Secretary General of the Armenian National Olympic Committee and the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs from the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting the latest updates and priorities in the work of WADA were highlighted, while paying attention to the importance of implementing the provisions of the World Anti-Doping Code and emphasizing the principles of Code compliance monitoring. The conference agenda also included the following topics: presentation of reports of activity of EERADO and Member States in 2015, development of operational plan for 2016, the analysis of RADO Board Member Evaluation Report Card, evaluation of blood testing requirements, emphasizing the possibilities for applying to the UNESCO Voluntary Fund.
The participants made an exchange of views regarding the current situation and existing challenges, as well as identified possible ways to streamline the work in the field of anti-doping.
WADA and EERADO expressed their availability to further support the NADA of the Republic of Moldova in implementing its development program on national level.
